“Successful Mothers are not the ones who never struggled…they are the ones that never gave up despite the struggle” (Sharon Jaynes)

I still remember it like it was yesterday. My heart was racing when I heard that I would have to “go under the knife” for the first time in my life. An emergency C-section! I laid on the Operating bed, cold and scared. I was shivering partly due to the anesthesia that had just kicked in and partly due to the fear of the unknown.

Then Alas…I heard the cry of my little one, and the words that changed my life forever… “Congratulations, your baby is here!”

I truly believe that Motherhood is a life event that births an opportunity for growth in unimaginable ways. From sleepless nights of feeding the baby, to balancing work/life and your responsibilities at home…life as you know it can change so rapidly. I call it growing pains! But the bright side is that, it is just for a season.

I know that your 2-year-old might be driving you to the edge with their constant demands and occasional temper tantrums, but before you know it, that season will be over and you will find that they soon mature, are of school age, and off to their first day at Kindergarten.

Although the season of raising young children might come with stress, lack of sleep and occasional trips to the pediatrician, let us learn to enjoy the journey, capture great memories along the way and most of all, remember that THERE IS GAIN IN THE PAIN… (No pain, no gain right?)

The bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:17, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

So Moms, remember that God will not give us more that we can handle. He has given each of us the inner strength to raise these children with love, patience and tenderness.

May God continue to strengthen us and above all, may we reap the fruit of our labor in Jesus Name. Amen!
